For the people with a dream

What do I want this site to be?

When I strip everything back, the answer is simple: I want to support people who have a dream.

To stand on the top step of a podium. To win an Olympic medal. Those dreams belong to young athletes, but also to the coaches and ski technicians beside them. Sometimes your dream is something you hope to achieve together.

Through my work, I have been fortunate enough to be part of that pursuit. There is something deeply valuable in it. I would like to see more people with that kind of energy, and help them keep going.

But two people with the same passion do not necessarily have the same opportunities.

A well-funded team can access information, expertise, and technology that an individual or a small private team may struggle to afford. That affects both the decisions they can make and what they can do with those decisions.

Someone may be ready to study, experiment, and work hard. Yet the cost of getting started can put useful tools and knowledge out of reach.

That is the gap I want to help narrow.

Kazuo Inamori expressed his philosophy through an equation, translated here as:

Results in life and work = Way of thinking × Enthusiasm × Ability

His “way of thinking” includes our values and attitude toward life. It goes deeper than choosing an effective strategy.

That idea gives me a starting point for thinking about this site. My practical application is to help people make better-informed decisions and expand what they can do, so their passion has more room to work.

Mindset, passion and ability work together toward your dream. Information supports informed decisions, technology expands what you can do, and passion comes from you. These support pathways are Simple Stuff’s interpretation, inspired by Kazuo Inamori’s philosophy.
The same passion, unequal access. Simple Stuff aims to narrow the information and technology gap for individuals and small teams, helping people make informed decisions and expand what they can do.

First, information.

Where should we put our effort? What should we change? What should we leave alone?

It helps to have something more than a guess. Measure a course. Compare two runs. Check an assumption. Use information to question your understanding and decide what to try next.

Second, technology.

A useful tool can make something possible that previously took too much time, required expensive equipment, or was simply out of reach. It can help a small team investigate more, learn faster, and make better use of the experience it already has.

These are the two places where I hope Simple Stuff can help: making information easier to examine, and technology easier to put to work.

The passion comes from the people using it.

I want someone with a small budget and a serious dream to have more ways forward. I want them to use these tools, push them, and discover something that helps.

No tool can promise a podium. But it can help someone take their next step with a clearer understanding and more possibilities.

I want to support people who have a dream.

That is why I am building this.
